thanks for posting this tara. this helps break it down. i find myself thinking more about what i'm saying, but not always sure (yet) what the best responses are. even though we have little ones, i think it does help to think about how we would respond if they were adults. only in the sense that we would thank adults for helping or be very specific about what we acknowledge about them, not just say "good job".
